STEAM and Staches: A Creative and Collaborative Afternoon of Learning
Last Friday was a double dose of fun and creativity at our school! Not only did our students come together in their family groups for an exciting STEAM afternoon, but it was also Mustache Day! From quirky mustaches to full-on creative styles, everyone looked fantastic while diving into STEAM activities.
STEAM education—an interdisciplinary approach that weaves together science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math—helps foster student inquiry, discussion, and problem-solving.
Throughout the afternoon, students engaged in a variety of hands-on activities, including Speed Stacking, buddy reading, building challenges, games and puzzles, and art projects. These activities not only encouraged collaboration and critical thinking but also highlighted the joy of learning in innovative ways.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Gratton, our Division Innovative Teaching and Learning Consultant, for her guidance and support in planning and making this event a success. Her expertise truly helped us inspire curiosity and creativity in our students!
What a day of learning, laughing, and, of course, mustaches!
